You may have heard that there’s a biography on Salman Khan now in bookstores, titled Being Salman. This book, written by Jasim Khan, explores the actor’s growth, personal life and stardom. As such, it touches on several topics, including his past relationships, and paints him to be a “misunderstood” man. And according to journalist Kishori Sud, who reviewed this biography, the author has claimed that Salman’s “girlfriends took advantage of his fame, used him and were unwilling to settle down.”
We’ll probably never know how much of that is actually true, but Salman’s relationships have always been a big talking point, especially his one with Aishwarya Rai. The book dedicates a considerable portion to this relationship and the entire drama that surrounded it – the reports that he was simultaneously dating Somy Ali, the rumours of physical abuse, his inability to let go of Aishwarya even after she broke up with him, etc. It references interviews from the past, like one where Salman said he has never beaten Aishwarya, and another where Aishwarya said, ‘There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks.’
It even talks about how Aishwarya replaced Somy Ali as Salman’s girlfriend, but Somy had not realised at first what was happening. And once she did, she broke up with Salman and left for the US.
Sounds like something to read!
