If that statement up there is reason enough to have appalling, 4-day-old hair at work, we feel ya’, girl. If you’re running between pilates class, meetings, office parties and meeting bae, you know you have no other choice but to sacrifice your time in the shower. Short showers equals to no time to wash your messy hair. Ugh!

The beauty world got whiff of this #firstworldproblem and decided to save the day (and the world) by introducing dry shampoo! Now with every positive thing out there, comes the negative. And while some people think dry shampoo is damaging to your hair, some of us can’t help but want to bust these myths! We spoke to celebrity hairstylist Adhuna Akhtar about some of these myths and here’s what she has to say:

Myth #1: It damages your hair

It definitely does not. Dry shampoo is a surface product that doesn’t penetrate into the skin. So, it has no way of damaging  anything!

Myth #2: It’s an alternate for washing

This is a BIG no-no! Dry shampoo is just a quick fix to refresh your greasy hair, it’s not a permanent solution! It adds a sort of freshness to the hair while revamping it in seconds. The payback is also quite smooth!

Myth #3: It looks like dandruff

This is SO not true. However, only when you buy inferior quality dry shampoo does the product leave residue. What your hair needs is instant freshness! Dry shampoo like BBlunt’s Back To Life one is powder-based, and absorbs all the grease and grime. And once you read their application instructions carefully, it’s easy peasy!

Myth #4: It increases hair fall

Dry shampoo is meant to be applied at the the shaft of your hair, as in the root on the surface of your hair. Hair fall can only affect your hair if it’s at the inner root of the hair follicle, which lies below the surface.

Myth #5: Weighs down your hair

Again, another misconception that’s super wrong. Like we said earlier, it does not weigh your hair down, it just won’t leave it looking flat and lifeless.

Myth #6: It interferes with your haircare regime

Not at all. In fact, because it’s so easy to use and is good on time, it’s more of an add-on quick fix once your 2-3 day old hair gets in the way of you living life and what not.

Myth #7: Does it really work?
