Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt, who has been serving the remainder of his five-year sentence for possession of illegal arms in the ’93 Mumbai bomb blasts case, has been released today, February 25th. The actor’s family, friends and industry colleagues are all excited to welcome him back home – but before he settles back into daily life, Dutt has a packed day ahead of him.

Here’s what his schedule is like:

Release: The prison gates open at 7am, but Sanjay Dutt’s release can be any time after that – likely around 9am – once he completes formalities. From Pune, he will take a chartered flight back to Mumbai. This is to avoid media glare and the subsequent traffic jams on the Mumbai-Pune expressway.

Mumbai: Dutt is expected to land in the city by 11am, and it is expected that there will be a huge gathering of photographers and journalists. However, he will not be speaking to the media at this time.

Siddhivinayak Temple: Dutt has planned to visit the Siddhivinayak temple, and will go there straight after landing to seek blessings.

Mother’s grave: After Siddhivinayak, the actor is planning to head to Marine Lines to seek blessings at his mother’s grave.

Homecoming: After visiting his mother, Sanjay Dutt will finally head to his apartment in Imperial Heights. Once there, he’ll go up to his home to freshen up.

Media interaction: After freshening up, the actor is expected to come back down and speak to the media about his return.

After this, we’re assuming he’s going to go back up to his home and spend time with family and, perhaps, friends who will want to visit him.
