Malayalam actress Jyothi Krishna was going about her life and stardom casually when she was hit by something really unexpected.

The next thing she knew, she had to pay a big price for her fame when her face was photoshopped onto pornographic images. In a conversation with BBC, she recalled how “a good friend, who is also a top movie director, first notified me of its existence. Then several of my friends and relatives started messaging me to say it was being shared widely on social media.”

She shared a post on Facebook where she has over a million fans, she said she “wanted to give other social media harassment victims like myself the strength to express their voice and bring culprits in front of the law.”
