Lakmé Fashion Week Summer-Resort 2016 came in like lightning and we didn’t even notice that four days had passed – that’s just how much fun we’re having. The day started with summer stripes and a whole lot of glitter by Rara Avis and Shriya Som, and ended in almost the same way. Monisha Jaising closed day 4 with a ramp full of bling worn with the comfiest white sneakers – best of both worlds, I say. Here’s everything you need to see…
As Farah Sanjana played up the prints, Rara Avis’ collection toned them down a bit. Shriya Som, however mixed in a little of everything. What started with floral tea-party dresses and separates, ended with a glittering Ujjwala Raut closing her show.
Animal doodles on white at Aartivijay Gupta, mixed prints and off-shoulders at VERB, and gorgeously tailored whites at Tanieya Khanuja made up the second show on day four at Lakmé Fashion Week.
Pretty summer pastels with a hint of gold at I Am Design, heavy embellishments and opulent headgear at Lalit Dalmia, and embroidered bridal wear at Saroj Jalan – put them all together and you have your entire wedding season wardrobe (minus the head accessories, of course.)
The latest from Reliance, Ajio.com presented their first show, #DoubtIsOut with clothes for every personality. They had five showstoppers which included Sunny Leone, Helen and Bharti.
I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t one of my favourite shows all week. Set up by the poolside at the St. Regis, Payal Khandwala‘s models walked by wearing her signature geometric shapes in all the colours under the sun. The coolest saris, tunics, skirts and dresses were all in one collection and TBH, I’d love to wear every one of her pieces.
P.S. Don’t miss all those Tachi accessories!
Fun cactus prints on white at Siddhartha Bansal, layers and quirky pockets at QUO and the coolest dungarees yet at Three – these would be immediate street style favourites!
It’s almost always an artist who inspires Shivan & Narresh‘s resort wear and this time it was Fernand Léger’s cubist work. Jumpsuits, skirts, dresses and (obviously) sexy swimsuits came in block colours and a hint of Swarovski shimmer. Yes, we also saw the return of their swimsuit sari.
Meanwhile, Kunal Rawal presented a star-studded menswear show. ‘Between The Lines’ saw military detailing in the form of kurtas, bundies, tunics and shirts. As Arjun Kapoor, Ayan Mukherji, Mohit Marwah sat front row, Sidharth Malhotra walked down the runway looking almost too hot to handle.
Easily one of our favourite Masaba Gupta shows of late, this season was the mirchi‘s time in the spotlight. Stitches saris, wrapped dresses came printed with red chilli prints and her silhouettes were all wearable, fun and comfortable.
I can’t explain what I saw at Arjun Saluja‘s instillation because you simply had to be there. Here’s a short video, but the full effect of his presentation was something too big for words.
Lisa Haydon shone like the light from a million suns at Monisha Jaising‘s show and looked (as you can see) S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G. You need to read our full review here.
We still have a day left so stay tuned, #MissMaliniFashion will be on ground bringing you updates LIVE!
