Cool shoes!‘, we said when we first laid eyes on the new Trainers designed by Rihanna. Did you know RiRi is the Creative Director of PUMA and this is her third pair of sneakers for the brand under her FENTY label? Keeping the sporty nature of the shoes in mind, the space-age details on them sure gave us a few cool ideas on styling them, out of a gym/training context. With BandraRoad bringing a hardcore street edge, MissMalini played dress-up with these dope pairs and here’s what we came up with…

At first we toyed with a sports theme. We teamed the shoes with pieces from the Sportstyle Collection from PUMA’s Spring Summer 2016 line and then goofed around in them with baggy oversized t-shirts for men.

The street life vibe

BandraRoad’s all about comfort and that’s the first thing Surelee Joseph noticed about the FentyXPUMA trainers. “They’re freakin’ comfortable“, she said. While I styled Malini with a relaxed scoop-back tank top by BandraRoad and cute patch-work shorts by ONLY, Surelee wore the BandraRoad Missy-E joggers and a baggy oversized pink shrug with a one-shouldered tank.

Tip: The shoes make quite the statement. So be sure to either style them with a classic theme and a hint of quirk like Malini, or match the drama of these shoes like Surelee’s, balanced with easy-toned separates on the top.

The boho vibe

These shoes aren’t just for training, you can run around free in the city wearing them. We tried a boho-city spin on the trainers by teaming them with some easy dresses. For Malini, we used the red FENTYXPUMA to have them pop against an almost monochromatic maxi with a sexy slit, and a metallic bomber jacket by Global Desi. On Surelee, we worked the same shoes in black with a LOVE dress by QuirkBox and a bright jacket by AND.

Tip: Remember to not overdo it. If you’re playing with separates, edit your look by taking one detail out.

After styling the shoes and watching the girls prancing around in them, we’ve come to the conclusion that the FENTYXPUMA are super cool shoes that make a statement, and are seriously comfortable. MissMalini and BandraRoad loved playing with them and you will too!
