Tinder has rolled out a new feature, currently available only in Australia, called Tinder Social. The company has basically described an orgy in PG-13 language, you will know what they mean when you read their statement on this latest addition –
With Tinder Social, your group can match with other groups and find out where they’re going. To use Tinder Social, just start a group with the friends you’re going out with, and then swipe and match with other groups also going out. You can then chat with your group matches or see their status to find out what they’re up to and where everyone’s headed. It’s a way to go places full of people you’ve already matched with, making socializing so much easier once you’re out and about. Whether you’re looking for groups you share common interests with, or you’re looking for a completely new adventure, Tinder Social is a better way to go out with friends.
So Tinder will basically allow you to match with groups of people instead of one boring person who is on the dating app to ‘make new friends‘. But there’s a small problem, everyone on your Facebook list will find out that you’re trying to arrange an orgy. This is because Tinder relies on their users’ Facebook information, so seeing which single, married, ‘in a relationship’ or ‘it’s complicated’ friend of yours is using this feature will be easy, especially for that aunt of yours who tags you in such pictures –
Responding to people outraging over lack of privacy for arranging these dates, the people at Tinder have made this update in their statement –
UPDATE: Any user who would prefer not to be added to groups can opt out of Tinder Social through his/her settings to no longer appear on their friends’ lists. We are only testing it at this point, but it’s important to note Tinder’s not a secret considering 70% of users download Tinder because their friends recommend it.
