5 Times Celebrities Proved That Capes Aren’t Just For Superheroes!

Alisha Fernandes

Growing up, we all obviously related capes with superheroes, and now not much has changed except the identity of our superheroes. Nowadays, we pay less attention to Batman and Superman and more attention to the likes of Sonakshi Sinha and Amy Jackson because they are our style heroes. And these heroes wear capes to, albeit not the same kind. Take a look.

Sonakshi Sinha

You can wear a sheer poncho-like cape over a fitted, self-coloured gown like stylist Sakshi Mehra did for Sonakshi Sinha.

Amy Jackson

This Pankaj & Nidhi ensemble that Anisha Jain picked for Amy Jackson is a perfect example of how a cape can add drama to a look. We love the black and yellow print.

Sunny Leone

We could actually do an entirely separate list on Sunny Leone and her caped outfits. This pastel dress by Diya Rajvvir that stylist Hitendra Kapopara paired with beige heels would’ve been super basic but that cape just takes it to the next level.

Karisma Kapoor

Karisma Kapoor walked for designer Neha Agarwal last year sporting a sheer poncho-like cape over a printed lehenga. Is this kinda, maybe, sorta giving you an idea of how versatile this item of clothing is?

Kanika Kapoor

Kanika Kapoor went neutral with her colour of choice but blingy with everything else in this beautiful outfit from Cherie D by designer Sherina Dalamal.

As you can see, whether Indian or Western wear, simplistic or embellished, capes can add a certain drama to your outfit that you wouldn’t necessarily get from anywhere else. Depending on your style or mood you can also opt for a cape and feel like a bit of a superhero yourself. Want to try it out? Let us know how it turns out for you!
