Such is the power of Anandi that Balika Vadhu recently won a place in Limca Book of Records as the longest running daily fiction soap in Hindi. With over 2190 episodes, it has overtaken Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi‘s record of a mere 1833 episodes.

Focusing on child marriage, the show, produced by Sphere Origins was launched in 2008 on Colors channel and has been an audience favorite ever since. Sharing his happiness about winning this national record, the programming head of the channel, Manish Sharma, said:
