We earlier told you that Javed Akhtar went on record to say that he believes Tanmay Bhat has the “mind of a cockroach” and that there was nothing funny in ridiculing Lata Mangeshkar. In the same interview to DNA, he also revealed that the singer reached out to him when she started hearing talk about this video, and he asked her not to watch it.
Here’s what he said:
She asked me what’s in this video that has offended her well-wishers so much. I told her not to even go there. I advised her not to look at it. And she mercifully agreed. I can’t bear to think what she would have thought at the grotesque parody.
