Udta Punjab is a crime thrilled based on drugs, and so to promote the film, the team at Balaji has come up with an interesting concept called Dopenomics – a list of facts about drugs that you probably didn’t know. It’s a pretty cool way to promote the film: interesting and informative, and definitely ties back to the main storyline.
Since the title track, Ud-daa Punjab, releases online tomorrow (and promises to be a crazy number), prepare yourself by checking these bits of trivia as told to us by the team behind Udta Punjab:
There were reports that mentioned states like Bihar and Punjab have more liquor shops than government schools. If true, this would make access to alcohol much easier than access to education.
Food laced with drugs is allegedly sold in various cities of the country, with students being the main target. It’s only recently that the Punjab and Haryana High Court have taken notice of the problem.
Many Cocaine users use these “street phrases” to reference this drugs. Beware next time someone asks you if you want Bubblegum at a club!
According to statistics, around 50% of high school students don’t think it is harmful to try cocaine once or twice.
Officers test for cannabis and cocaine at the roadside, and screen for other drugs as well. Too bad that doesn’t always stop people.
Udta Punjab is due for release on 17th June, and the title track will be out on the 3rd.
