Half of 2016 is over and we’ve seen rather remarkable movies do well this year. The critically acclaimed Airlift was one of the highest grossing movies, the female oriented Neerja broke box-office records, the remarkably different Kapoor & Sons was successful at the box-office. We also Shah Rukh Khan attempt something very different in Fan and Udta Punjab is all set to blow our minds. That’s why the rest of the year looks promising for all Bollywood fans out there, on that note, here’s a list of 15 movies we’re dying to watch in the second half of the year –
I mean how can one not be excited for this sure-shot blockbuster? How?
The trailer of Dishoom looks like a lot of fun and Varun Dhawan and John Abraham‘s chemistry is full on rocking, hot and happening!
Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Gowariker last collaborated on one of the best movies of all times – Jodhaa Akbar, plus Hrithik and Pooja Hegde look amazing in the film’s first look. The expectations are sky high from this one!
Based on the infamous Nanavati case, which took Mumbai by storm and changed the way the Indian judiciary works, Rustom is going to be an intense legal thriller with Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz playing a married couple. K. M. Nanavati vs. State of Maharashtra was a case where where Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati, a Naval Commander, was tried for the murder of Prem Ahuja, his wife’s lover. You can read more about the matter here. Frankly, this is the one movie I’m most excited about!
Dhoni is bae, a biopic on him HAS to be amazing! The best part? It’s directed by Neeraj Pandey and it stars Sushant Singh Rajput, one of the most talented young stars in Bollywood.
Dharma Productions and Excel Entertainment have joined hands to make this time travelling love story starring Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif and we’re really excited. Firstly, the two look amazing together and secondly, science and romance have never really gone hand in hand in Bollywood before. This new concept is rather intriguing.
Vishal Bhardwaj‘s next after Haider is reason enough for us to wait for Rangoon with bated breath. The movie is based on the Second World War and it’s being termed as a Casablanca-isque love story with Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut playing the leads.
Karan Johar is directing after years, Aishwarya Rai and Ranbir Kapoor are romancing each other, a talented actress like Anushka Sharma is a part of this love triangle and dreamboat Fawad Khan has an extended cameo. ADHM looks like a winner!
The first posters of Ajay Devgn‘s directorial venture Shivaay is looking amazing! The ice, the Lord Shiva references and the pretty actress Sayyeshaa cast opposite Ajay makes this movie one of the most awaited.
It all sounds so interesting, Amitabh Bachchan plays a lawyer, Taapsee Pannu his love interest and Shoojit Sircar is the producer. Not much is known about Pink and that makes it more interesting. No?
I really enjoyed Rock On! and maybe for sheer nostalgia, I know I’m going to watch its sequel as soon as as it comes out. Shraddha Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar‘s chemistry will be fun to watch as well, don’t you think?
Kahaani was one of the best films of 2012. I have no doubt that Sujoy Ghosh and Vidya Balan will weave magic again!
RANVEER SINGH I LOVE YOU!!!
It’s an Aamir Khan film, that merits its inclusion in this amazing list.
Anil Kapoor‘s son Harshvardhan is making his debut and from it’s teaser Mirzya looks like it could be this year’s Bajirao Mastani. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is a cool guy, we’re sure he’ll rock it.
