Color’s popular show Kavach which has Mona Singh battle bad but seductive spirits in order to protect her bae played by Vivek Dahiya will soon have a new vamp. According to Bombay Times, despite garnering positive reviews for her performance as Manjulika (the evil spirit/witch), Maheck Chahal is getting replaced. The actress tore a ligament and fractured her knee in an accident just weeks before the launch of the series, and while the producers and the actress were sure she’d recover in time, it seems like Maheck is unable to cope with the show’s demanding schedule. Due to her injury she has been unable to show up on sets and this has prompted producer Ekta Kapoor to replace her with Sara Khan.
Maheck is apparently unaware about her replacement, here’s what she said when contacted –
I’m not aware of this news. This show is important for me and I would have liked to continue. Of course, my health is priority. I want to meet the producer, Ekta Kapoor, to update her personally about my status. My physiotherapist was shocked to learn that I had been shooting despite being advised complete bed rest.
