So about 8 years ago, I had a bar/club in Mumbai called WHITE. It was a haven for electronic music lovers, and we had some of the biggest DJs in the country playing there every weekend. Back then, I met a young, enthusiastic DJ with insane energy and passion for Techno and Progressive House! Today, Siddhant Kapoor, aka Bullzeye is one of the most well known names on the DJ circuit in India, and plays at clubs and festivals across the country! This multi faceted DJ is also a bollywood actor, which isn’t surprising, considering his father is the legendary Shakti Kapoor and his sister is the gorgeous and supremely talented Shraddha Kapoor!
To celebrate his birthday, Bullzeye is playing a set at Ruka, at the Ramee Guestline Hotel in Juhu, Mumbai this Saturday, and it promises to be a bloody banger of a night! On the eve of his gig, I thought I’d hang with him and throw a few questions at him.
1.You’ve been DJing for a while, how has your music changed over the years
A. Yes I have been dj’ing for about 17 years now. I would say the music has changed me over the years, its been electronica though out, but as a human being I think music has a very positive affect on me in every good way, whenever i need to laugh and smile all I do is listen to music.
2. What’s harder, acting or DJing?
A. Both are easy :)
3. What’s the coolest venue you’ve played at?
A. Chronicle (Goa) in India, and in Amsterdam in a top place near Gashouder (forgot the name)
4. What are your top 3 songs right now?
A. Top 3 tracks I’m playin are Victor Ruiz – Soulseek, Sad Robot (DNOX AND BECKERS RMX), Ankytrixx – NN
5. How do you like Ruka? You’ve been there but have you played there?
A. Its a nice intimate vibe there, have been there for gigs and of course the food is amazing.
6. What DJs do you listen to?
A. Too many to mention, but Maceo Plex, Dixon, Oliver Huntemann top my list.
7. How has your experience been playing with DJs like Ankytrixx, Vishal Shetty, Karan Bhoj and the Bombay crew?
A. These names and many more are gonna make it real real big. Such talent we have in our country, its amazing.
8. What’s the one secret to a killer Bulli set?
A. Always hit the BULLZEYE!
Techno lovers, if you haven’t heard him play, you should do it right now! He’s insanely talented, and he’ll make you dance till you can’t dance no more!
This Saturday, 9th July, head to Ruka, Juhu, Mumbai, 462 A.B. Nair Road, Opposite Novotel,Juhu, Mumbai and be prepared to rage it!
