Varun Bahl’s Couture show on day 4 at #ICW2016 completely took me to another place. And while his collection last year was at an actual garden party venue, this time he created a full fledged garden at the hall of the Taj Palace Hotel and named it Vintage Garden.
Grand in every way with a symphony roses in the grand arch and florals all over the runway twinkling away with fairy lights, I knew the night was set to be magical.
Varun’s collection included colours, textures and patterns that one could only dream of wearing on their wedding day. With floral and tropical motifs, I saw the most versatile looks with the most thrilling and royal music playing in the background.
Of course the brand is known for their signature embroidery and silken thread-work, but at the same time with a fuse of colours from pale pink to ivory, pistachio, to dark blues, the silhouettes maintained a very contemporary and elegant feel. Even the designs for the men were something only Varun Bahl could create to such brilliance!
All in all it was an absolutely stunning show, with an epic line-up, thrilling music that went together brilliantly with the collection and of course Indian-wear inspiration for days on days. What more could I ask for?
