26-year-old Ramabhishek Singh alias Kera Singh was arrested in Mumbai where he lives with a changed identity – Rohit Singh. The UP Special Task Force made the arrest because apparently, Rohit escaped Azamgarh in October 2009 after getting involved in a shootout. Two people had died in the shootout. He also carried a reward of Rs 30,000 on his head. Kera was just 19 at the time of the crime
Kera has acted in comedy shows and has also been the scriptwriter for the very popular The Kapil Sharma Show on a contract basis.
ACP Arvind Chaturvedi said:
He (Kera) is key accused in the sensational shootout at former pradhan Ghure Singh’s house in Azamgarh’s Mau Parashan village that resulted in death of two people and injuries to three others. Prohibited firearm (carbine) was used in the shootout. Carbines are generally used by police and other security forces.
