It looks like Ranveer Singh is the number one choice for directors who are making a film after years: when Shaad Ali returned after Jhoom Barabar Jhoom with Kill Dil 7 years later, he picked Ranveer. When Aditya Chopra decided to direct Befikre 8 years after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, he went with Ranveer. And now, Shimit Amin, who last made Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year in 2009, has reportedly signed Ranveer on for his next film. Prior to Rocket Singh, Shimit had directed Chak De! India and Ab Tak Chhappan.
The director is making this film with YRF, and they are apparently looking at a 2017 release. Shooting for this is expected to commence once Ranveer wraps up shooting for Zoya Akhtar‘s next film. The leading lady is yet to be finalised.
