Many people were taken aback when Ajay Devgn released an audio clip of his business partner, Kumar Mangat Pathak, speaking to Kamaal R Khan on a phone call. In it, Pathak has asked KRK why he’s tweeting good things about the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil teaser, while referring to Shivaay as Himmatwala 2. (ADHM and Shivaay are releasing on the same day, hence the rivalry.) KRK claimed during the course of this call that Karan Johar paid him 25 lakhs to tweet flattering things about ADHM. However, he later took to Twitter to say that was not true and he only said it to get Pathak off the phone.
In a statement he made while releasing this clip, Ajay Devgn called on Karan Johar to clarify the accusation. The director, however, said nothing of the sort, and didn’t acknowledge the audio clip on social media. But when Indian Express reached out to him for comment about this, he replied saying:
My self respect, reputation, company reputation, upbringing doesn’t allow me to dignify this question with a response.
