According to a report in DNA, Salman Khan‘s next film as a producer will be based on the life of Somen Banerjee, one of the co-founders of Chippendales. (Chippendales is a touring dance troupe of male strippers.) Somen – known as Steve – started off as a male stripper himself. The Indian-American entrepreneur first owned a gas station, after which he bought a failed LA club (Destiny II) that he turned into a nightclub. After that, Steve apparently wanted to expand things, and that’s how Chippendales came into being.
DNA’s report continues to say that the biopic starts off in Kolkata, and will then move to LA and Europe, as Steve had businesses in several cities across the world.
Salman is reportedly interested in developing this as a mini-series as well.
