Katrina Kaif has been chosen for this year’s Smita Patil Memorial Award – an award that was initiated to honour and promote Indian actors’ work in films. It is titled after one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated performers. The news of Kat receiving this honour came out and Twitter went beserk in no time. The previous bearers of the biennial award were Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi and Tabu. Prateik Babbar, Late Smita Patil’s son seemed to have no qualms about the fact that Kat was being bestowed with the award.
