This Woman Took A Selfie Everyday For A Year To Document Her Incredible Weight Loss Journey

Swagata Dam , 28 Sep 2016

This morning, I stumbled upon an article about a popular Instagrammer and a mother of two – Justine McCabe.

There was a time whe she used to gorge on 5 slices of pizza along with breadsticks and chicken wings EVERY night for dinner. She had found comfort in food after losing her husband John Paul, who took his life after battling depression for a long time. She weighed 313 pounds and was a size 24 back then. Now, the 31-year old woman is 126 pounds lighter and is extremely proud of her weight loss journey. It all started when she once clicked a picture of herself.

The person you see reflecting in the mirror…will provide you with the biggest challenges in life. The human spirit is powerful. Do the work. Suffer the setbacks, push past the pain and excuses. True motivation is not an outside source. It's staring directly back at you. There is nothing you cannot be, do or have. Live with no regrets and don't ever give up. This is what drives me. My motivation. 💖 #transformationtuesday #teamjonnystraws #neverfail #IAMMOTIV8 #motiv8performance #jonnystraws #weightlossmotivation #weightlossjourney #weightlosstransformation #fitspiration #girlswholift #fitspo #fitfam #selflove #motivation #confidence #weightloss #trainandtransform #girlswithmuscle #fitmom #fattofit #bodybuilding #beastmode #teamgetyokd #spartanrevolution #limitless #ichoosetolive #keepgoing #musclevizion #athlete

She told Us Weekly:

“I didn’t recognize myself in it… I looked lost, broken and full of darkness. So every day from there on out, I took a selfie with the hope that I would start to see myself again and reclaim my light.”

That’s when she decided to begin her weight loss journey and document every bit of it by taking a selfie every single day.

“Taking pictures every day and comparing them to other ones I had taken gave me the desire to keep pushing forward and fight to become the person I knew I was deep down… I have found my self love and confidence… I feel unstoppable.”

She found “the best form of therapy” by working out at the gym. Justine exercises six days a week and enjoys spinning, hiking and weight lifting.

She works with online personal trainer Jonny Straws. Check out the menu plan he designed for her.
