Now that the big 4 are over and we have a minute to breathe before the onslaught of Amazon India Fashion Week we decided that this is the perfect time to do one big roundup of all the big trends and fun fashion that populated the runways of Paris, Milan, London and New York!

Colour was quite omnipresent across almost all runways, but none more so than this bright mustard yellow, seen at London Fashion Week SS17 at the Versus by Versace show as well as Thakoon at New York Fashion Week and Rahul Mishra‘s show in Paris among others.

Handwoven textiles and embroidery and embellishments were also seen at shows like Rahul’s, highlighting the importance of artisan work.

Prada’s Milan Fashion Week placed a premium on feather details which is both fun and fashionable.

Free-Spirited Bohemian

Everything that is chill an easygoing is completely up our alley so it’s pretty perfect that Emporio Armani and such are on the same page for Spring Summer 17!

The Sheer Romantics

Everyone from Gucci and Celine to Valentino and more brought out romance in a big way with their sheer fabric choices and flowy silhouettes.

Fashion houses like Nina Ricci and Fendi brought stripes out in their collections in a big, bold way, which is great news for me coz I could almost be a jail bird with the amount of striped items I own.

Fun Statement Sleeves

Prada and Marni among others had collections featuring fun statement sleeves that add some character to their clothes.

Graceful ruffle details are everywhere! Sachin & Babi’s collection from New York is a great example of the comeback of this feminine style, especially since their inspiration was the ballerina.

Animal prints and otherwise were seen over and over like at the London show of Preen.

Finally, to go with stripes, there’s also checks too, as seen at the Shrimps show this season.

All in all, it’s safe to say that there is a lot that’s been played with in terms of trends in the Spring-Summer 2017 realm and this only means good things for people like us who like to not get boxed in when it comes to fashion. Big winners are feminine silhouettes, ruffle details and sheer fabrics, bright colours and as always some stripy magic!
