There were reports that all is not well between one of the few longest running friendships in Bollywood, that of Kajol and Karan Johar. Reports suggested that the relationship went awry as Ajay Devgn‘s Shivaay and KJo’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil were releasing on the same date, i.e this Diwali. Things further went downhill when Kamaal Rashid Khan claimed that Karan paid him Rs 25 lacs to praise Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and diss Shivaay.
Even as we desperately hope the besties resolve their differences and go back to being BFFs (because duh, they are #FriendshipGoals), it may not be happening, as Ajay told PTI:
I am not friends with him (Karan). Even Kajol’s equation is not as warm as it was. It is a personal issue… not due to any professional thing. It’s a personal hurtful feeling. It has nothing to do with the clash.
When probed about he reason for the differences, the actor said:
I would not like to talk about it.
This might just have affected me more than all the break ups of 2016, combined. Karan and Kajol have given us super hit films together like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and My Name Is Khan. The latter has made special appearances in KJo’s films, like Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Student Of The Year and he has always maintained that she is his lucky mascot.
