Priyanka Chopra Apologises For Her Controversial Magazine Cover

Sukriti Gumber , 18 Oct 2016

Priyanka Chopra was recently in trouble for the t-shirt she sported on the cover of Conde Nast Traveller, India. She received a lot of flak for being insensitive towards refugees and taking advantage of her privilege. Later, the magazine released their statement on the entire brouhaha created by their cover and clarified the message they were trying to put across.

Now the actress has also come out to speak about the entire matter and told NDTV:

They (Condé Nast) specially got this (t-shirt) made and implored me to wear it. They said they were addressing xenophobia which is a big issue that is happening. So their idea was that. And I bought into it, I guess. And I am really, really apologetic about the fact that sentiments were hurt … The point the magazine wanted to make was actually something good.
