5 Hilarious, Inappropriate And Politically Incorrect Things Twinkle Khanna Said On Koffee With Karan

About halfway into this episode of Koffee With Karan, I had to stop and wonder how it could possibly get better this season. I’ve been looking forward to this one since it was first announced, because Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna just make the most fascinating pair – he’s known to be diplomatic; she’s stunningly candid. So much so that Akshay decided early on in the episode that they should keep a count of all the politically incorrect things she says, and while they didn’t really keep a track, you can bet we did.

Here’s a list – which, really, is just the tip of the iceberg.

1) When she called Karan “the other man”

Karan remarked that Twinkle and Akshay were sitting very close together on the couch, and wondered whether there was space for a third. Twinkle invited him on, saying that he’s the other man – and he could fulfill his fantasies. Make of that what you will. 🙂

2) When she spoke about getting arrested

Remember the controversy some years ago, when Twinkle got into trouble for unbuttoning one button on Akshay’s jeans during a ramp walk? Well, she talked about it on this episode, saying, “Millions of people unbutton, unzip, take out their dangling bits, pee on the walls of the police station, but nobody arrests them. But I’ve been arrested. Mine is a crime of the century. I’m out on bail. 500 rupees bail!”

3) When she revealed her relationship with Akshay started off as a fling

Akshay said that if Karan asked him about the start of their relationship, he’d be diplomatic. Twinkle, however, said she wasn’t going to be diplomatic: “I had come out of a long term relationship and I wanted, for the first time in my life, to have a fling. So I decided I’m going to have a fling with him and it’s going to last 15 days. Because that was the length of the outdoor. I ran out of books in Calgary, there was no TV and I was really bored. And there he was, so it was kind of perfect.”

4) When she talked about Karan being in love with her

Karan Johar has previously admitted that the only woman he ever thought he was in love with was Twinkle Khanna, something that was brought up again during this episode. Karan said that he was in love with her for a very brief moment, but he wonders why. Twinkle’s answer? “Because my testosterone level is almost a man’s, and I had a moustache at that point. So you must have looked at that moustache and said, ‘I like that. It’s really hot. I want that.’”

We’ve come close to this particular revelation before, but trust Twinkle to really bring it out. So much so that Karan replied with, “If I agree with what you’re saying, I could be put into jail.” Twinkle then followed that up by saying they would go to jail for 377 days only, which is, of course, a reference to Section 377, which makes homosexuality a crime in India.

5) When she turned Karan’s question on him

Karan asked Twinkle who the coolest Khan was – Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir – which is one of his standard questions. Twinkle, however, turned it on him by saying “Why don’t you add one more Khan? Fawad Khan, and you answer this question.” Karan has – understandably, and for obvious reasons – avoided this particular topic, but of course Twinkle would bring it up. No wonder Karan was stumped!

Her entire rapid fire was pretty great, as was the rest of the episode. In fact, there’s so much more to this episode that you’ll definitely want to catch, including the sweetest gesture by Akshay that had Twinkle tearing up. Make sure you watch this one!
