Manish Malhotra turned 50 on December 5, and welcomed his birthday in style with the who’s who of Bollywood- Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar and many others. Quite obviously, the media “kept a tab” on who attended the party, with whom, and wore what. Mumbai Mirror, however, took it a tad too far as they covered the party next day with an insensitive headline that said – 50 Shades Of Gay.
Twitterati was furious about this title and called out to the newspaper about the same. There were some who said ‘gay’ is also a term for happiness, but there is no denying that the headline was in bad taste and double meaning.
