Shahid and Mira Kapoor‘s daughter, as you know, is named Misha. The name is a combination of both their names, and it seems like they struggled for a while with picking the name they wanted for their kid. They eventually on this one just a few days before the baby was born, and it turns out it was Shahid’s idea.
Here’s what the actor told HT during a recent interview:
Honestly, we got desperate [for the name]. We didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl, and we never even tried to find out. That’s not allowed in India anyway. We just needed to come up with a good name, because, somehow, when you want to come up with a name, you don’t like any. And then you get really scared, because the date keeps getting closer.
He eventually thought of the name Misha:
And I asked Mira, ‘Is it nice? What do you think?’ She liked it instantly, and said it was very nice. All of this was happening five days before Misha was born.
