Reports were doing the rounds that Gauri Shinde‘s Alia Bhatt–Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dear Zindagi was a copy of Canadian comedy TV series, Being Erica. Reportedly, the producers of the series, Temple Street Productions have sent a legal notice to Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for copyright infringement.
According to a report in DNA, Gauri maintains that her script was original and Karan wasn’t aware of the film being inspired in such detail from the show. However, Apoorva Mehta, CEO, Dharma, denies receiving any legal notice from the Canadian production company.
The makers are now reportedly trying to sort out the issue amicably.
