Essential oils have been all the rage off late. And if you haven’t heard or seen them around, then you’ve got to read this post because we’ve about to break it down for you!

What are facial and skin oils?

Facial oils include any fragrant plant oils a.k.a essential oils, non-fragrant plant oils (your skin will love these) or synthetic oilsAnd while most creams do give you that moisture and contain a little oil, they’re not enough to make a big difference to fix that moisture barrier.

What purpose do they serve?

Because most of the oils contain botanical oils like argan and passion fruit, they are filled with antioxidants. They decrease inflammation and improve your skin’s texture overall. These essential oils get absorbed and can pass though the lipid layer of the skin fast, so it gives off the appearance of plump and hydrated skin.

How do you use them?

Take a few drops of the oil and lightly pat it all over face in upward circular motion. Make sure to avoid the eye area. It’s preferable to use them in the mornings, pre sunscreen and foundation application.
