It was a night of glitz and glamour to back a worthy cause. Manish Malhotra created a collection of skillful chickan work contributed by the village artisans of Mijwan. This Summer Couture collection aids The Mijwan Welfare Society—an NGO founded by Kafi Azmi (Shabana Azmi‘s father) for the empowerment of villagers in Mijwan, a small village in Azamgarh, UP. Now, Shabana Azmi along with her godchild Namrata Goyal, run the NGO which Manish Malhotra decided to support with his talent.
Isn’t it great to see how fashion contributes to female empowerment and supports village stability in such a major way? While the show was spectacular, we were really surprised to know that Manish completed this collection in just 10 days! Here’s what you won’t want to miss from last night:
