One More Reason We Just Love Fashion Week Nicole Teresa Juneja , 03 Apr 2017 And it’s not about the fashion shows. Don’t get me wrong though. Still reeling from what we saw on the runway (from start to finish!), but the fun actually continues off the ramp as well.
How so? People watching of course.
With a venue filled with fashion lovers (much like us), everyone is just so sharply dressed. And usually turn out to have such interesting stories to share. So here are some of the city’s creative minds whom we got to know a little bit better this time at fashion week.
Surabhi Chauhan
Founder of lovestruckcow , her take on fashion is fresh, fun and honest. She notices the details we often miss. Gotta love it.
Also love her for her love for saris.
And dogs.
Tanya Maheshwari
A design student, she’s already collaborating with interesting homegrown brands like BIAS .
Akanksha Sharma
A designer at IKEA, her top knots and outfits are just always on point. Vogue agrees.
Pranav Sawhney
When it comes to food, fashion and footwear, he’s your go-to guy. Also the Co-Founder of Dameriino .
PS: Their shoes even took to the runway this season for the Dhruv Vaish showcase at #AIFWAW17.
Shyma Shetty
Co-Founder of HUEMN, this fierce designer is also a serial doodler, pro-Beyonce and always up to something interesting.
Harsh Nambiar
This gifted Delhi-based artist is about to have his first viewing. Stay tuned.
Prakash Ranjan
Founder of Tribeaisle , from sustainable energy to sense of style, really like what Prakash has to say. Featured in the recent #HuemnStories, here’s a bit more about him.
Hue hue hue hue ……. @_huemn Prakash : “University years are considered by many to be some of the most defining years of one’s life. I was young, idealistic and full of passion for my life to start post school. A minor bump I had to deal with was a repeat exam paper that I was sitting for. After days of studying hard, I came out of hall feeling elated. I knew I had done a satisfactory job and that I would sail through the rest of my papers. When the results came, to my disbelief, it showed me as ‘not present’ due to some internal administrative glitch and I was declared ‘failed’. In that moment it was the single worst thing that could ever happen to me. I tried to set things straight, went to the university every day for more than a week, and met my professors to plead my case to no avail. I felt like I was on constant trial. When I finally got a meeting with the Dean he accused me of fabricating the story and dismissed me. I remember that moment well because it was the first time I had cried as an adult. I curled up in a deserted corner of campus and was inconsolable. I had never felt so helpless as I did then. Retrospectively, I wonder how a mistake with no fault of mine could’ve been so devastating, could’ve made me feel so vulnerable and powerless. I did relentlessly push forward and finally proved the entire administration wrong. This was probably one of the most significant lessons of my life – you are never really helpless, you just have to try harder and persevere. It is not so much what has happened that counts as much as what you do with it and what it teaches you.” Photo : @markhanauer Assisted by : @shubham_lodha Image Direction : @pranavkirti HMU : @neillybarr #HuemnFall17 #HUEMN #HuemnStories Fall Show: 16thMarch 1600 hrs IST at #AIFW

Ibrahim Rayintakath
A gifted graphic designer and illustrator, he was part of the creative team that came together to create the stunning Pero travel diaries this season at #AIFWAW17.
❤️ #perotribe #Repost @peterdascoli with @repostapp ・・・ My brilliant friend, fashion designer Aneeth Arora, created this remarkable Press Kit for her new Pero collection @ilovepero ❤ as a travel diary based on her inspiration from Central & South America and China. The level of detail is genius and the book includes post cards, authentic tidbits such as regional bus tickets, postage stamps, sketches and notes about local costumes, hair styles, pattern/texture mixes, and snippets of her artisanal fabrics such as bohemian floral prints, embroideries, and neon yarn dyed woven stripes reminiscent of folkloric ponchos. She even stuck small post-it notes with hotel phone numbers and other doodles. ?? ?? ?? ?? #pero #aneetharora #fashion #style #luxuryfabrics #handmade #craft #inspiration #art #madeinindia #createdinindia #makeinindia #india #genius #china #peru #mexico #embroidery
