Dangal

Aamir Khan‘s Dangal was undoubtedly the biggest blockbuster of 2016. The film broke all records and gave to Bollywood a bunch of new, super talented actors. While Aamir Khan is known to not accept awards or attend award shows, his film Dangal wasn’t included in the list of nominations. This obviously got people wondering why the best film of that year wasn’t on the list.

At the recent press conference for the IIFA nominations, Wizcraft’s director Andre Timmins cleared the air. Here’s what he said:

In IIFA, forms are sent to various production houses. They fill those forms up and send it back to us. Those forms are then put out to the industry for voting and from there it becomes a nomination. Dangal has not sent their entry in. We would love Dangal to be a part of it. I think it’s a movie that’s broken all records. We love Aamir Khan and the two little girls. They did a great job. But unfortunately, they didn’t send their entry in. We feel sad.

That is quite sad, no?
