Vidya Balan is one of the most talented actress Bollywood has got, and her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur is one of the most powerful producers in Bollywood. Which is why when the two got married, people thought they’d see them working together, churning out some incredible movies one after the other. Unfortunately for their fans, the couple had other plans. Vidya and Siddharth, who first met and worked together on No One Killed Jessica have vowed to never work together again. Vidya spoke about it in an interview with Filmfare.
I’ve decided not to work together. It’s just better that way. That way we won’t bring work home or take our house to the set either. There are lots of wonderful actors he can work with. And there are lots of producers I can work with. It’s best this way. I guess we’re selfish.
She explained why in a previous interview with TOI.
I find it amazing when couples say that they work together. Siddarth and I prefer not to mix our personal and professional lives. If we work together, there will be no difference between our home and workplace. When we discuss a common thing, we will have difference of opinion and it could get difficult. We do talk about work at home but just a little and as long as it’s not involving the two of us. Then we are safe. Thankfully we have never been in that situation. I feel it’s healthier not to work together if you can afford it.
That’s quite sensible, no?
