Akshay Kumar‘s National award for his film, Rustom sparked off a debate on whether the actor deserved this esteemed honour. Many felt the awards were biased as there were other actors who were far more deserving for the award.
The actor was recently asked to comment on this difference of opinion, and he told a leading daily:
I have been working in the film industry for the last 25 years and I have noticed that every time whoever wins a National Award, the debate starts on who is deserving to win the award. I got it after 25 years. If you think I don’t deserve it, you can take it away.
