Fairness creams and actors endorsing them has become somewhat of a contentious topic in Bollywood. With Abhay Deol deriding celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone (and more), and Sonam pointing out to Abhay that his cousin Esha has endorsed them too, this became a heated debate on social media. Other actors have remained quiet about their views, but sometimes, it’s their actions that matter more.
Case in point, Ranbir Kapoor. According to a report on DNA, Ranbir was offered Rs. 9 crores to endorse a fairness cream. Yep, 9 crores! The work didn’t even require the entire day, but the actor refused. Ranbir endorses multiple brands and is quite a favourite amongst advertisers, but he drew the line when it came to endorsing fairness products. That’s cool, isn’t it?
