Guneet Monga: "Being a woman in a "man's world'' is tough. It's not easy. I know that I used to colour my hair white and wear sarees for entering corporate meetings to be taken seriously. I used to keep quiet and text my opinions to my colleagues. I've been through that. Because at the face of it, you're dismissed many times. When did that change? I don't know exactly. I figured one needs to keep working and at some point, it will automatically change. I've been very young in a lot of situations. I also think it's a lot to do with age than gender. I was a very young person wanting to produce films – upar se a woman. With age, yes, there's hope to grow wiser. But also I think that you can't just take people in their 20s and give them shit tonnes of money and say go make a film! With time, it changed. And with the movies I did."

It’s only when we look at our old photographs that we realise how far we’ve come and how much we’ve changed in the years gone by. Guneet Monga, who has produced acclaimed films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Masaan and The Lunchbox, was pleasantly surprised when she came across a picture that was clicked a year ago. She’s oodles of weight ever since and is looking and feeling better than ever. Here’s a collage of her before and after photo that she shared.

Now, that’s inspiring!
