Director Ketan Mehta has reportedly sent a legal notice to Kangana Ranaut for hijacking one of his most ambitious film projects, Rani of Jhansi – The Warrior Queen. The director claims that he had approached Kangana to play the titular role in his film based on Rani Laxmibai, in June 2015.
Kangana had allegedly committed to doing the project with him, but she later announced another film, Manikarnika – Queen of Jhansi, based on the same topic. However, this film is with another producer and director, which left Ketan with no option but send a legal notice to Kangana. She has not replied to the notice yet! According to reports, Ketan has been working on his film since a decade.
Earlier this week, the writer of Simran, Apurva Asrani accused Kangana of taking away the credit for writing and developing the film’s script.
