Nude scenes on Indian television is an unheard phenomenon, considering the audience for limited scenes also is very limited. Speaking of it, there have rarely been moments when Hindi television has shed their demure image and went bold!
Taking a huge step in that direction, TV actor Akshay Mhatre who plays Naren in Piyaa Albela shot a nude scene for an important sequence of the show. Since it’s a Sooraj Barjatya show, he thought it was a joke, only to later realise that it wasn’t. According to a report in IndiaForums, the makers initially tried to put skin-coloured shorts and stockings, but it looked fake. Therefore, Akshay gave in and shot the scene authentically.
Must say, that’s very brave of him!
