It was being rumoured that our desi girl Priyanka Chopra‘s Quantico wasn’t going to be renewed for a third season as the numbers in the second season had dropped.But PC put them all to rest when she announced that Quantico would have a season 3, except this time, with only 13 episodes.
A source informed DNA about the actual reason why Quantico managed to get renewed.
Quantico along with other serials including Agents of SHIELD, Once Upon a Time and The Goldbergs, agreed to have its license fee trimmed in a bid to cut costs. That was the main reason for its extension. ABC has a full plate this year as apart from the above-mentioned series, as well as Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder, Scandal and Designated Survivor it has picked up eight more new dramas for the 2017-18.
Hence Quantico 3’s extension is limited to only 13 episodes. But that doesn’t undermine PC’s international fame as a reason for the extension, and a Netflix streaming deal — it has added Quantico and American Crime to its exclusive subscription streaming lineup.
That explains why. Nonetheless, we’re looking forward to a third season, PC. 🙂
