Video: Sridevi Breaks Down While Talking About Her Pakistani Co-Stars In Mom

Divya Rao

Sridevi‘s recent release Mom has been winning her critical acclaim from all over the world. It’s a story that needed to be told, and who better to do this than the supremely talented Sridevi, right? It will be a while before Sri celebrates though because she’s still reeling from the absence of her co-stars Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui. Adnan played her husband in the film, while Sajal played her daughter.

Pakistani artists have been banned from working in India after the fateful Uri attacks in 2016. It led to a massive controversy with Fawad Khan and Karan Johar during the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, but the film was later passed for release as it was shot before this decision was made. The same happened with Mom – all their scenes were shot much before this resolution was passed.

In a recent interview, Sridevi got emotional while talking about her co-stars and broke down on camera. She thanked them for their wonderful work but also put forth a very important point on diversity. Take a look.
