Star kids today get a lot more attention than other generation of star kids did. The current lot like Alia Bhatt, Athiya Shetty, Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor etc. were barely known until they actually came into the movies. Their growing years were a lot more private, but today, younger star kids like Suhana Khan and Jhanvi Kapoor are everywhere – thanks to the paparazzi and social media.
Not too long ago, a video of Suhana Khan being hounded by photographers went viral. She looked understandably distressed and annoyed, and we couldn’t help but feel sympathetic towards her and the lives younger star kids have to lead. Kajol has now spoke about this in an interview with Mid-day. When asked how she feels about the media attention given to Nysa, here’s what she said.
If something like this were to happen with Nysa or Yug, I’d be infuriated. It’s sad that the Indian paparazzi has reached a stage where it can do this to a kid. What happened with her sounds like bullying to me. We are stars; it’s our job to accept all of that. But to be doing that to someone who is nothing more than an impressionable teenager is harassing her in plain words. They should be more responsible when it comes to dealing with our kids. We signed up for this, they didn’t.
