The 7th season of Game of Thrones has begun and everyone is happy again. While the show is known to be extremely popular in India, I was pleasantly surprised to see that an Indian politician is a fan too.
Former actress and the current Information and Broadcasting and Textiles Minister of India, Smriti Irani revealed this interesting information by posting a meme before the show’s premiere, two weeks ago. It’s pretty cool that the lead of India’s most dramatic show (Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, never forget) is a fan of America’s most dramatic show. Everything in the world suddenly makes sense again.
This is cool. Do politicians get inspired by the decisions these characters make in the show? Does Smriti relate to Lyanna Mormont? You think Prime Minister Modi is a fan too? I’d love to imagine the cabinet ministers and the PM discussing a new episode every Monday. Or like not talking to each other to avoid spoilers. What fun!
