Sanjay Garg’s Opening Show Has Us Floating On Cloud Nine

If I could explain to you the feeling that took over my soul at the Royal Opera House last night, you’d feel as if you were in a dream. Sanjay Garg closed day 1 at Lakme Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2017 with a stage filled with overhead clouds, an orchestra singing sweet tunes from the balcony and handcrafted thread-work that marked his celestial collection.

Zardozi-work, handwoven brocade in muted colours, handcrafted Chickankari on Bengal mul, floral prints and motifs glided past me with the models walking around the theatre stage, while the Conductor of the orchestra filled the room with penetrating melody that amazed us all.

The beauty look included dark kohl applied to the lower lash line only. Nude eyebrows that blended into one’s skin. And a low up-do that required a lot of gel and bobby pins to give off a sleek vibe.
