Prints in menswear have always been highly contentious, (probably cos of the indelible trauma that the Hawaiian shirt left on our collective psyche)! Prints have been in trend for a few years now, but a good majority of Indian men still wear prints only to the beach! Time to change gentlemen! Time to realise that floral is not the only print!!!

So we worked with Troy, and put together four looks from his latest collection, to show you how you can rock prints to the next event or party you go to!

Look 1 – Digital print

  • Foliage printed single breasted Peak lapel Jacket with Printed pocket square.
  • Ivory white textured shirt.
  • Olive green slim fit pants.
  • Teal walnut double Monkstrap shoe.

I have never worn a heavily printed jacket like this before, but teamed right, it looks amazing. The green on the trousers and the shoes lifts the colour beautifully. Perfect for a day at the races!

Look 2 – Floral printed shirt

  • Cobalt blue knit single breasted peak lapel jacket with printed silk pocket square.
  • Floral printed linen shirt
  • Oxford blue knee patch Denim
  • Charcoal Black wedge heeled brogues.

The best part about this look is the impeccable colour pairing, which is what you need to keep in mind when wearing a printed shirt. Pick one colour from the print on the shirt, and ensure your jacket matches that colour. Your pocket square can a mix of the colours of your shirt, or else a different colour as your jacket. This is perfect for a nice Sunday brunch, or yacht party!

Look 3 – Polka dot print

  • Denim flocked polka single breasted peak lapel jacket with printed pocket square.
  • Ivory blue zip detail dress shirt
  • Oxford blue knee patch Denim.
  • Midnight Matt weave lace up Oxford shoes.

Absolutely love this look. The polka dot print on the denim jacket is cool AF, and the zip detail on the shirt totally lifts the jacket. Perfect for your best friends wedding, bachelor party, a movie premiere, or you know, when you land up in a bath tub at 4 am!

Look 4 – Embossed print evening wear

  • Eggplant embossed French cuff braid detail shawl yoke evening jacket with printed pocket square.
  • Black baroque metal collar clip detail dress shirt.
  • Black wool evening slim fit pants
  • Black zip edge detail laceup oxfords.

This look has so many things going for it, starting with the colour of the eggplant embossed jacket, the metal collar clip on the black shirt, the slim fit pants and the oxfords. Perfection! This is ideal for a formal event, sit down dinner, or the GQ Party (if you’re slick enough to get invited)!

And there you have it gentlemen, prints done right. And at your next party, take a chance, try a print!

All garments and footwear are Troy Costa originals!
