TV actress Sanjeeda Sheikh‘s family has been slapped with a case of domestic violence under Section 125 of the CRPC. Her sister-in-law Zakerabanu Zakir Hussain Bagban allegedly filed a case of domestic violence against her husband, i.e Sanjeeda‘s brother, Anas Abdul Rahim Sheikh.
According to a report in MumbaiMirror, she claimed that the family would beat her up and demand money form her father. She also said that her husband was an alcoholic and is also involved in match fixing. At the time of their wedding, she was told that he has a construction business, but he mostly sits at home all day long, she said.
However, Sanjeeda‘s family squashed these allegations by filing a petition. It stated that Zakerabanu found it difficult to adjust in the liberal environment of her home after marriage as she previously belonged to an orthodox family. The court passed the judgement in favour of Sanjeeda’s family, saying that the FIR was baseless, bad in jurisdiction and merely filed to harass the family.
