There’s one thing that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and R. Madhavan have in common. It’s the fact that they both are getting better with age – just like wine. Naturally, we all were super excited when heard that the two might romance each other on screen soon.

Reports suggested that they were coming together for Fanny Khan, which also stars Anil Kapoor. But sadly, it’s not happening anymore. Rajkummar Rao has been roped in to play Ash’s love interest instead. But the question is, why was Madhavan replaced?

An insider told the popular leading daily DNA:

The real story is that Madhavan asked for a huge remuneration. He wanted Rs 1.5 crore for a 15-day shoot. And the makers felt that it was not justified. The plan is to make the film within a certain budget and the price quoted by Maddy didn’t align with that. It was mutually decided he couldn’t be part of the film and Rajkummar Rao was brought in immediately.

Apparently, Akshay Oberoi, Kartik Aaryan and several other young actors were also auditioned for the role. But it seems director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra wanted to cast Malayalam film actor, Adil Ibrahim. But Ash wasn’t too keen on working opposite him. And ultimately, they zeroed down on Rajkummar.

After witnessing Ash and Ranbir Kapoor‘s fresh pairing in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, we are now looking forward to see the gorgeous diva with the super talented Rajkummar. It will be quite interesting to see them together, isn’t it?
