If any news of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s magnum opus Padmavati wasn’t exciting enough, this one will definitely take the cake. The antagonist of the film, Ranveer Singh, who will be essaying the role of Alauddin Khilji is reportedly going to be bisexual. While the primary plot of the movie is Khilji’s obsession with Rani Padmini, essayed by Deepika Padukone as per a report on India Today, SLB will also explore Alauddin’s fascination and attraction towards his slave-general Malik Kafur, played by Jim Sarbh.

The report also suggests that there will be nothing overt about this dalliance which is still deemed illegal in our country. Khilji and Kafur’s relationship will be more of a subtle nod to the reported pansexuality of the historical figures.

This sounds really, really interesting and with an actor like Ranveer taking this character on, I cannot wait to see this movie on the big screen!
