It’s a common situation—You are at a bar with your pals, catching up on the latest news and suddenly, you realise that you haven’t been keeping a close eye on your glass. Between the worry and urge to toss your drink, your jovial mood often gives way to panic and worry. Soon enough, however, you will be able to enjoy your night out confidently.
Undercover Colors is a nail polish that promises to detect the presence of date rape drugs in your drink. The technology for this was developed in 2014 by 4 college students who were alarmed at the number of sexual assaults that took place, especially on college campuses.
Essentially, the product works by changing colour when it comes in contact with such substances. All you need to do is dip your lacquered nail into your drink. Within seconds, you will be able to confirm if your beverage is safe or not.
Although the final polish has not been launched yet, the company has hinted at a potential release in 2017. Considering that they have received a significant amount of funding last year, we have our fingers crossed tightly for some good news.
