It’s been more than two cool weeks since TV, fashion and music star, Monica Dogra dropped her first commercial Hindi cross-over track – “Naraye Mastana”. The infectious dancefloor tune is Monica’s unique interpretation of the 2003 release by the legendary Sufi singer Abida Parveen and it’s still riding high on our radar!

The steamy music video was released along with the single last month with an all star international cast & crew. Shot in Los Angeles, the video is directed by Ra Dreyfus and produced by Marc Chenail, who have collaborated with worldwide pop phenomenons like Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears. The video features dancers from the critically acclaimed, Oscar winning musical hit La La Land, as well as others who have worked with pop cultures icons, Madonna and Beyonce.

This is what the multi talented artiste had to say about her latest release:

“The tune is a remake of a Sufi song by an artiste I have tremendous amount of respect for, Abida Parveen. I basically wrote a song around my own understanding of the song and I really relate to the song as well. I consider myself a seeker, and at times an accidental rebel because my seeking leads me to walk the unpaved path. The music video for Naraye is easily one of the best things I’ve ever made. Directed by Ra Dreyfus, and featuring choreography by Ehizoje Ezike, who has toured with Beyonce on her last tour, I am eternally grateful to everyone who made this video happen. Hope to hear this single bumping every club across the nation!”
