Salman Khan has been hosting Bigg Boss since so long, we think the guy is now immune to the strangest shit the contestants say. Usually he mocks or scolds the participants in the house due to their comments or antics, but this time, the superstar took the role of a teacher. Yes. Let that sink in.

Anyway, one of the contestants – Jyoti Kumari showed her ignorance the other day, by asking the openly gay Vikas Gupta how he’d have children if he was sexually interested in men. While other contestants in the house often mock Vikas’s sexuality, this time, Vikas answered the questions partially and then changed the topic.

But Salman took it upon himself to talk about the LGBTQ community. During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode he mentioned Jyoti’s question and then discussed the meaning of the terms ‘bisexual’, ‘homosexual’ and ‘heterosexual’ one by one. Doing this on national television, on a show watched by most of the country is a commendable thing to do.

The actor politely explained each and every word and Jyoti listened attentively. His schooling was met with a loud applause by the audience and housemates. In a country where most schools still don’t have sex education and where no sexuality is legally recognized apart from heterosexuality, this is a big step. If a man with the popularity of Salman Khan addresses these issues, it might just help in changing attitudes.
